So this is my first post on my new blog that I hope will help me on my road to running my first half marathon.
Here are the facts:
- The half marathon is on 1st December 2012
- The last time I ran in any sort of running race was school athletics and cross country around five years ago
- I currently weigh 76kg and am 1.67m tall - therefore am classed as overweight
I would love to be able to run in this half marathon as I am almost finished my nursing training and feel that this is my year to better myself and become a fitter and healthier person which will help my nursing practice.
Thus far in my training, I have ran 6km (two days ago) - stopping once for stretches (and a breather) at the halfway point which took me around 45minutes.
Goals for next week:
- Run 6km x2
- Run 4km x2
Running four times a week is plenty at this stage I feel, just so I can ease my way into it.
Any advice is welcomed!! And i look forward to gaining a lot of knowledge from browsing through and following others on tumblr.
